After co-managing a multi-million-dollar nonprofit student society in Canada, I moved back home to the Bay Area to find a path into tech. I soon signed up for my first hackathon; with a recently-minted Anthropology BA, I wasn't quite sure yet what I'd do there, but I ended up pitching an idea that attracted a world-class team, building a concept that won the event and spending the next few months using the awarded resources to get the idea off the ground. Through that experience, I was exposed to user experience design — and the application of ethnographic research to solving business problems — and haven't looked back since.
STRATEGIC. FUTURISTIC. CONTAGIOUSLY ENTHUSIASTIC.
I'm now a San Francisco-based Designer, Researcher and Strategist with 4+ years of professional experience researching, designing and leading product and service innovation, with a passion for positively impacting people's lives and a background in anthropology (including ethnographic research) at McGill University.
I enjoy getting to know people, tackling complex problems, using research to defend design ideas, and applying anthropological methods to tech and service design. I'm especially passionate about social and environmental issues, and would love to work with other people excited about social justice. In my spare time, I love to travel, sail and learn about new trends in tech and design.
I'm open to contract and consulting opportunities; be in touch if you'd like to work together.
